Why a Delhi wedding needs more than an address

Big city, many venues, winter-season traffic — and a phone that won't stop ringing on the wedding night.

  • Venues are spread across the city

A Sangeet in West Delhi, pheras in South Delhi and a reception near the airport can be an hour or more apart in evening traffic.

  • Farmhouses are hard to find

Lanes off Mandi Road or GT Karnal Road look alike, signboards are small, and many farmhouses have more than one gate.

  • Wedding-season roads jam

On popular muhurat dates in the winter season, several baraats share the same roads and venue entrances back up.

  • Calls land on the busiest people

“Bhaiya, gate kaunsa hai?” — directions calls reach the bride's father and brothers right when they're needed at the mandap.

Delhi wedding venues — and what to put on your invite

Where Delhi weddings happen, what trips guests up in each area, and the detail that fixes it.

  • South Delhi farmhouses

Chhatarpur · Sultanpur · Mandi Road · Satbari

The city's biggest farmhouse belt. Lanes are narrow and alike, and a farmhouse's name often doesn't come up correctly in a Maps search.

On your invitePaste the pin the venue manager sends you, and name the gate in the venue field — “Gate 2, Mandi Road side”.

  • North Delhi along GT Karnal Road

    GT Karnal Road · Alipur

A long stretch of banquet halls, resorts and farmhouses along the highway, where entrances are easy to overshoot.

On your inviteSay which side of the road the entrance is on and add a landmark guests pass just before it.

  • West Delhi banquet halls

Kirti Nagar · Rajouri Garden · Najafgarh Road

Banquet halls sit side by side on busy roads, so similar names and shared parking are common.

On your inviteWrite the hall's full name and the nearest Metro station, plus the parking or valet entrance.

  • Near the airport

    Bijwasan · Kapashera · Aerocity

Farmhouses and hotels near IGI Airport suit out-of-town guests, but the airport roads have their own flyovers and turns.

On your inviteFor hotels, name the ballroom or lawn inside; for farmhouses, pin the gate guests should use.

  • Hotels and clubs in central Delhi

Chanakyapuri · Connaught Place · Lutyens' Delhi

Large hotels have several ballrooms, lawns and entrances — “the hotel” isn't specific enough for a guest walking in.

On your invitePut the hall in the venue name — e.g. “Hotel name, Crystal Ballroom” — not just the hotel.

  • Functions at home

Colonies, DDA flats and builder floors

Haldi and Mehendi often happen at home, where blocks, lanes and floor numbers confuse guests from outside the colony.

On your inviteSwitch on “at home”, write the block, house number and floor, and pin your own gate.

Farmhouse pins

How to pin a Delhi farmhouse so guests reach the right gate

Two minutes now saves a dozen calls on the wedding night.

  1. 1

Step 1: Ask the venue for its pin

Most farmhouse and banquet managers share a Google Maps link on WhatsApp — ask for the guest entrance, not the office.

    maps.app.goo.gl/…

  2. 2

Step 2: Check where it lands

Open it. If the pin sits in the middle of the property or at a service gate, long-press the right gate in Google Maps and share that spot instead.

    Long-press → Share → Copy link

  3. 3

Step 3: Paste it with the gate's name

Paste the link into the function's Google Maps field and write the gate in the venue name, so the card and the map agree.

Made for Delhi

Delhi weddings this invite is built for

  • Guests from all over NCR

Relatives coming from Noida, Gurgaon, Faridabad and Ghaziabad get a pin that works from wherever they start.

  • NRI and out-of-town guests

Family flying into IGI Airport opens the same link — every function's date, venue and map, with times you can mark as IST.

  • Winter-season weddings

December and January fog can delay flights and slow roads. Guests re-check timings and directions on the day in one tap.

  • Late-night pheras

When the muhurat is after midnight, put the actual time on the Wedding Ceremony card so elders can choose dinner, pheras or both.

  • You can design and preview it free, with no sign-up: pick a template, add each function's date, time and venue with its Google Maps link and add family numbers. To share it, get your link for a one-time ₹499 (launch offer, usually ₹999), then send it on WhatsApp.

  • Yes. Every function has its own venue, address and Maps link, so a Haldi in Delhi and a reception in Gurugram sit on the same invitation.

  • Yes — it's a web link that opens anywhere. Times show exactly as you type them, so add “(IST)” in your welcome message for guests in other time zones.
